Tell us a bit about yourself and what got you into larping

I got into larping when I was 16. I had always enjoyed fantasy video games and movies. When I heard of larping I couldn't turn down the opportunity to try it. I started out in the Illinois chapters of the game and met some of the best friends I could have hoped for in life. Eventually I tried my hand at plot at the southern Illinois chapter and eventually at another central Illinois chapter.

What are your other interests?

I am in nursing school, am an adoptive and foster parent, and enjoy video games.

Tell us a bit about your character(s)!

Aside from a couple events I have always played the same character, Tater aka POOT (thanks Drew). He has changed a bit through the years but has always been morally grey while generally leaning toward leaving a positive impact on the world. He has been a member of several groups, notably Legacy and The Order of the Emerald Flame. He is a fierce friend who will do anything to help those he loves. He has changed over the years from a raccoon scavenger, to elf, to orc, never feeling any real allegiance to the species. He was given the egg of a brood queen several years ago and turned into a mantis warrior. About the same time he began calling himself Warlord Tater and fashioned himself the enforcer of the town.

What is your favorite larping memory?

My favorite laring memory would have to be the time I got to play an event in a cave in Tennessee. The event itseelf wasn't anything to write home about but the setting was beautiful.

When someone meets you at larp, how can they best get to know you/engage with you?

The best way to get to know me is probably just to take time. I am not very good at talking to new people so I am usually quiet with anyone I'm not comfortable around yet. But eventually I will talk your ear off.
